Destin, Fl Capitalizes on Commercial Swimming Pool Maintenance

In spite of poor economic conditions and a sluggish housing market, the country’s largest swimming pool maintenance and repair franchise, ASP - America's Swimming Pool Company, has seen continued franchise growth and rising AUVs because of a strong focus on professionalism and business-minded franchisees. Today, ASP is proud to recognize Destin owner/operator Ryan Eiland as a key part of their success, naming him the 2010 Franchisee of the Year for his dedication to the company as well as significant sales growth and expansion.

Eiland opened the franchise in mid 2008 after leaving the pharmaceutical sales world to pursue self-employment. He saw strong double-digit growth in 2009, but it wasn’t until he broke into the commercial swimming pool maintenance market in Destin later that year that his franchise really took off. In 2010, Eiland has seen a triple-digit sales growth of 168 percent over 2009’s numbers. He projects similar triple-digit growth for 2011.

“Being named Franchisee of the Year is such a great honor,” said Eiland. “We’ve put a lot of effort into making our franchise the best it can be, and I’m proud of our accomplishments.”

In addition to soaring sales figures, Eiland has added two employees and two trucks during this period of exponential growth. CEO and President Stewart Vernon says franchisees like Eiland are the backbone of ASP’s success and the driving force behind their expansion plans.

“Ryan has been a tremendous asset to our company,” said Vernon. “His dedication and hard work have paid off in a huge way. We’re looking forward to more great things from Ryan in 2011.”

Though regular pool service and repair is a necessity to many homeowners, the industry reputation has previously been perceived as somewhat unreliable, as many service contractors lack the consistent organizational skills and support to run a steady business. ASP has been explosively successful since its inception in 2001 by fusing a fragmented industry through careful analysis of changes in housing trends along with a heavy emphasis on professionalism and customer service.
