Pool Closing Service in Pflugerville

Protecting Your Pool Through Central Texas Winters

ASP - America's Swimming Pool Company of East Austin provides professional pool closing service for Pflugerville homeowners who want their pool protected through the off-season and ready to go when warm weather returns. A properly closed pool can limit algae buildup, keep debris out of the water chemistry equation, and reduce the risk of equipment damage that can turn a spring reopening into an unexpected repair bill.

Why Pflugerville Pools Need a Thoughtful Close

Central Texas winters don’t follow a predictable script. Mild stretches can run for weeks, making it tempting to push off closing altogether, and then a hard freeze rolls through and puts unprotected plumbing and equipment under real stress. That combination, a long, mild off-season interrupted by occasional sharp cold, is exactly what makes a thoughtful closing plan worth having. Closing is generally worth considering once water temperatures drop and stay down, or once leaves start accumulating regularly.

Fall leaf debris is the other factor to keep in mind. Organic matter sitting in pool water through the off-season can fuel algae growth, so the pool that looked fine in October can be a green mess by March.

What Our Pool Closing Service Covers

Our pool closing plans are customizable, so you can have us handle the full process or take care of specific tasks where you want help. For a complete closing, here’s what we do:

• Removing all debris from the pool’s water, filter, and skimmer so nothing is left behind to break down over the off-season
• Readjusting the water level to the appropriate point for winter conditions
• Testing water and adding chemicals for the winter, targeting a chlorine level of 1-3 ppm and a pH of 7.2 to 7.6 to help keep the water clean while the filter isn’t running
• Draining equipment of excess water to prevent freezing, which matters even in a mild climate where occasional hard freezes still occur
• Inspecting and installing a winter cover to help keep debris out and protect the water through the off-season

Water chemistry does a lot of the work while the pool sits closed. Getting chlorine and pH into the right range at closing can mean a pool reopens more cleanly instead of needing extra time and product to clear up in spring. We shock the pool before closing to address bacteria, then confirm levels have returned to normal before we button everything up.
